Wordy Wednesday

Today's wordy wednesday word is "hirsute."  I do love a good word, don't you?

The definition of hirsute (pronounced hersuit): having or being covered with often coarse hair.  I shall use the word in a sentence.  "The bellowing, swarthy, hirsute Irishman belched loudly and proceeded to fall off his bar stool."

  1. Mews, you also may use Mommy's legs as an example...

  2. I shall dash off to the post and send a razor immediately in order to "correct" those hirsute thighs...

  4. Indeed Island cats I long for an island of my own some day. Thinking of beaches filled with bathing not-so-hirsute beauties and beach shacks stacked to the gills with marlin and tuna. Mojitos for all!

  5. Mr. Mews, we cautiously suggest that a gentlecat should not make negative stereotypical generalizations about particular breeds of Beins. Observations about the whole species are well and good, but singling out some groups of them against all the others seems a tad unscientific.

After all, we don't want to be felinopomorphic about this.

  6. I happen to have had a hardy, hairy Irishman in mind my friends who has a grand sense of humor. But yes, no, wouldn't want to be "felinopomorphic."

  8. "Hirsute" sounds so much better than "Hairy"! Great word, Mr. Mews.
